Labour Migration Academy

Facilitating Governance, Enhancing Protection and Promoting Development.

This interregional training activity on international labour migration reviews and analyses key issues, strategies, policies and tools for managing international labour migration. In addition to general sessions and around three main themes – Protection – Development and Governance, the academy offers the possibility to participants to analyze in-depth some key issues of Labour migration. The academy will then give a broad overview of the different challenges and opportunities related to international labour migration, but it will also give the opportunity to participants to specialized themselves in a specific thematic they will choose. Throughout the two-week course, the sharing of international experiences will be highlighted.

Fostering the social and professional reintegration of return migrants

The course provides advanced knowledge with which to foster the contribution to development of return migrants and it offers ground-breaking information about their patterns of social and professional reintegration. The course will also analyze the role of the different institution involved in the whole process of return and the needs of returnees to facilitate their reintegration in the country of origin.

In the context of the Workshop, quantitative specialists working for public pension schemes will be trained to develop and build their own scheme-specific model based on the generic models of the ILO. At the end of the Workshop, participants will be in a position to support the financial forecast of their institutions.

This course addresses the needs of quantitative specialists such as economists, actuaries, statisticians, mathematicians, computer programmers, accountants and financial managers involved in the financial planning of public pension schemes.
