The Social Protection Virtual Campus is a portal for the generation and dissemination of interdisciplinary knowledge. The aim is to develop institutional capacities and individual competencies in order to improve the effectiveness and extend coverage of social protection systems with extensive use of distance learning, technical cooperation, exchange of information and experiences, creating contact and knowledge networks.  

Social protection professionals, workers' and employers' representatives, academics, researchers, students, NGO professionals and interested people are all invited to share this learning and communication space.

This electronic platform is the result of cooperation between the Social Protection Programme of the International Training Centre of the ILO in Turin and the Social Protection Sector of the International Labour Office.
It was initiated to host the pilot edition of the course "Curso sobre Técnicas Actuariales Aplicadas a la Seguridad Social" of the program "Programa de Formación en Métodos Cuantitativos Aplicados a la Protección Social para las Américas (QUATRAIN – Américas)" of the International Labour Organization (ILO).
